Khalifa University was honored to host Professor Jonathan Knowles from University College London for a research seminar on “Future Biomaterials: Biomedical, Medicine, and Other Applications” on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Main Campus Auditorium. As UCL’s most highly cited materials scientist and a global leader in biomaterials research, Professor Knowles shared insights from his extensive career, which spans over 400 publications and numerous international collaborations.
During the seminar, Professor Knowles discussed the evolution of degradable biomaterials, from hydroxyapatite for bone grafting to cutting-edge 3D-printed resins for maxillofacial applications. He also highlighted recent advancements in nerve regeneration using innovative conduits developed with Dankook University. The event offered a valuable opportunity for attendees to explore the intersection of materials science, medicine, and clinical innovation.
